Everyone has a skill to offer - no matter how trivial it may seem - that simple skill may just be the one thing that a professional tradesperson needs simply because they don't have the time or knowledge to pursue it themselves.

We have done a lot of searching on the internet for similar schemes - indeed we thought we had found the ideal site for our own use. It gave information of people in our area and the skills they offered - it even gave a very nice picture of the person we were about to email. As we submitted the email we were duly informed that it would cost us £6 for a month's subscription to email other members or £15 for three months!

We therefore decided to launch the skill X change in a very simple forums format to test the water and were pleasantly surprised by the response. Hence we started to redevlop the site and relaunch as Skillcycle.

Skillcycle is a 100% free system comprising a "classified ads" system for posting skills offered and needed and a Message Board service where our members can catch up with each other and chat. Skillcycle will always be free.

We do not intend to have to set up approval for new members signing up or messages being posted, but we will monitor the site regularly and, should it ever be necessary to approve memberships and postings, we will do so on a daily basis. We will also bar members who misuse this service,
